Today I will show you my crochet baby blanket. Because I don’t have a baby, my model was my cat. He enjoyed it very much mostly because he loves to sleep on my crocheted items. Every time I’m taking a break from crocheting I find him relaxing on my crochet projects.

The stitch may look a little bit difficult at first, but with patience, after the first rows, you will see it’s actually easy to crochet and is a simple crochet pattern. The pattern only uses the double crochet stitch, you just have to be careful not to miss a stitch.

This crochet baby blanket is one of my favorite patterns, it’s so beautiful and airy and it looks wonderful in any color you like.  I think this crochet baby blanket is perfect for spring, summer, and fall. Is the perfect gift for a baby shower.

The blanket sizing:

Baby blanket: 91 cm x 91 cm / 36″x 36″;

Toddler blanket: 107 cm x 132 cm / 42″x 52″;

Lapghan: 91 cm x 122 cm / 36″x 48″;

Throw blanket: 132 cm x 152 cm / 52″x 60″;

Twin bed: 150 cm x 216 cm / 59″x 85″;

Full/ queen: 229 cm x 229 cm/ 90″x 90″;

King: 274 cm x 229 cm/ 108″x 90″.

Of course, you can adjust these sizes to your needs and crochet your blanket in any size you want.

This pattern is an easy-to-crochet baby blanket but is not a crochet baby blanket for beginners, so if you are a beginner don’t make this project your first big project until you didn’t practice the stitches first. Crochet single-crochet stitches, and double crochet stitches and be careful with your tension. The crochet tension is important when you crochet or knit, so at the beginning, you can use a crochet tension ring or a crochet tension holder.

The free pattern for the crochet baby blanket has the written instructions and the chart too as the video tutorial for the stitch, but a new video tutorial for the baby blanket it’s on my to-do list, so keep an eye on my YouTube channel.

I hope you like the color because I love it and I think it will fit both sexes: girl or boy. You can use this pattern to crochet any kind of blanket, not just a baby blanket, you just have to work until you reach the size you need.

The dimension of my crochet baby blanket is 80 cm/31.5 inches in length and 81 cm/approx 32 inches in width.

For my crochet baby blanket I’ve used:  400g of  Pure cotton yarn (8x 50g) (50g= 170m/ 1.76oz= 185 yards) and a 2.5 mm hook.

cottonThis is a very high-quality cotton yarn. This yarn is made from 100% combed Turkish cotton, which is soft, flexible, and exceptionally durable. Textiles in Turkish cotton stay beautiful for many years and only get softer with use. This yarn also excels when it comes to its absorbing powers, but is quick-drying at the same time. The color chart includes plenty of gorgeous colors, you just have to decide what color you like and get started. Here you can buy this yarn: http://bit.ly/3mFiwP6

Crochet Baby Blanket

You can wash it by hand or in a washing machine at 30 degrees. This crochet baby blanket in order to look this beautiful needs to be ironed if you use natural fibers or blocked. Use your favorite method to block the baby blanket, but before blocking read the instructions on the yarn label. So if you’ve used the yarn I’ve recommended for this project you can iron the crochet baby blanket. If you’ve used another yarn read the label for the instructions.

I hope you will enjoy your new blanket, my cat loves it.
